Nicole founded Couples and Family Therapy to offer warm, individualized care close to home. With over 15 years of experience in mental health, she takes a holistic, trauma informed, and anti-oppressive approach and adapts to what each person, couple, or family needs. She is trained in Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2), Emotionally Focused Therapy, ACT, CBT, narrative, and mindfulness based approaches, with additional training in addictions, ADHD, and ASD. She is a mom of two with a quirky Bernedoodle, and loves time outdoors near the water, reading, rowing, and travel.

She is formally trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and draws on attachment based, somatic, and self-compassion practices. She helps partners move beyond surface arguments to understand the patterns that keep them stuck, and helps individuals build a kinder relationship with themselves.

Every clinician offers a free 15-minute consultation to begin. Sessions run 50 or 80 minutes, in person or virtual, with sliding scale available for those who need it.

Sessions from $150 per 50 minutes. HST is not charged on psychotherapy.

  • Direct billing is available for most plans that cover a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist.
  • Fees outside of benefits can be paid by e-transfer, debit, or credit, due at the end of each session.
  • Sliding scale options may be available. Just mention it during your consult.
  • HST is not charged on psychotherapy services.

A few of the things people ask before their first session.

  • Do I need a referral?

    No. You can self-refer by contacting the clinic or booking a free consultation directly through the online booking site.

  • How do I book an appointment?

    Use the Book Now button to reserve a free consultation if you are a new client, or an appointment if you have already met. You are also welcome to call or email.

  • How does payment and insurance work?

    Payment is due at the end of each session by e-transfer, debit, or credit. Direct billing is available for many extended health plans that cover a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist, and you will receive a detailed receipt for plans we cannot bill directly.

  • Can you direct bill my insurance?

    All clinicians can direct bill through Greenshield and SSQ, and several can also bill Manulife, Canada Life, OTIP, Blue Cross, Great-West Life, People Corporation, NIHB, and more.

  • How do virtual appointments work?

    You will receive a secure link by email for your video session. Virtual support is available to anyone living in Ontario, by video or by phone.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are charged 50% of the session fee, with exceptions for illness, weather, and emergencies.

  • Is there parking, and is the building accessible?

    Yes, there is free parking at the back and on the street. The office is on the lower level and is reached by stairs, so it is not wheelchair accessible. Virtual sessions are always available as an alternative.

  • Do you offer support outside the Niagara region?

    Yes. Virtual support can be provided to anyone living in Ontario.
